ARS CHORALIS, Barbara Pickhardt director, will present a choral concert,
"In A Green Cathedral" at the Maverick Concert Hall in Woodstock NY on
Friday, June 13th and Saturday, June 14th, both at 7PM.

Inspired by the magic of the Maverick woods, and the immanence of the
summer solstice, the 40-voice chorus will sing music by Faure, Ravel,
Copland, Offenbach and others. Guest artist, soul singer Jonell Mosser will
perform a set of original songs, accompanied by Gregory Dinger on guitar.
Pianists Kristen Tuttman and Andrea Shaut, cellist Erica Pickhardt, and
flautist Lynn Peck will provide instrumental support.

The kaleidoscopic nature of the music reflects the human condition, from the
mundane to the sublime. Nowhere is this more apparent than in two Pavannes,
Ravel's and Faure's. Both are the composers' best-known works and were
originally written for orchestra with words added later. However, the Faure
portrays a lovers' spat, while the Ravel, "Pavanne For A Dead Princess" is
widely thought to mourn a dead child. But in fact, Ravel's intent was to
decry the loss of childhood's innocence, a message that segues into a
setting of Bob Dylan's lyric for
"Forever Young" by John Corigliano.

Queen of the Nashville club scene, guest artist Jonell Mosser has also
performed concerts with the Nashville Ballet and the Nashville Chamber
Orchestra. She has been in a band (briefly) with Ringo Starr and recorded
the definitive cover album of Townes Van Zandt's songs, at Townes' request.
She is the perennially favored back-up singer for recordings by such artists
as Kris Kristofferson and Jesse Winchester. Her own records include the
Saugerties-recorded
"So Like Joy", and
"Enough Rope" with her Nashville
band. She has also become a favorite in Ulster County during the 20 years
she has been coming here to write, record and play in venues from UPAC to
Bearsville Theater to Levon Helm's Ramble.

Tickets are $15 in advance (non-refundable) and $20 at the door. Children,
half price. Available at The Golden Notebook in Woodstock, Harmony Gifts in
Stone Ridge and Barcone's Music in Kingston For ticket information, call 845
