Welcome Yule: The Ballad of the Brown King

December 11, Time TBA

The year, we reunite with The Riverview Baptist Church for a unique telling of the Christmas story through excerpts from Langston Hughes’s “Black Nativity” and music of long-neglected African American composers. This 26th annual Welcome Yule concert features composer Margaret Bonds’ The Ballad of the Brown King which tells the story of Balthazar, the brown King.

Tickets for all programs will be $25 at the door or $20 advance sale – online or from members – and $10 for children under 18.

All audience members will be required to show proof of vaccination and wear masks.

In the event of cancellation of the program, all advance ticket purchases will be refunded.
