Dear concertgoers,
On behalf of the Ars Choralis Board of Directors and all our chorus, I want to thank you for coming to hear us sing this past June 24th and 25th at Maverick Concerts in Woodstock! We are always honored and humbled to perform in such a storied and historic space, and we were absolutely thrilled to see so many of you fill the hall – you helped us to end our 2022/2023 concert season on a high note!
From the elegiac opening notes of the solo in Elgar’s “Ave Verum,” to the powerful sonorities of Coleridge-Taylor’s “Loud He Sang the Psalm of David,” to the ineffable majesty and enduring comfort of the Brahms “Requiem,” our performance was the result of the collaboration of many parties and talented artists. We thank Maverick Concerts and Maverick’s Artistic Director, Alexander Platt, and Operations Director, Lu Ann Bielawa, for opening their musical home to us; our talented soloists, Lily Arbisser and Jonathan Lawlor, our peerless pianist, Andrea Shaut, and our wonderful instrumentalists who complemented our singers perfectly and worked closely with us to bring the vision of our Artistic Director, Barbara Pickhardt, to life.
We hope to welcome you again to our performances in December 2023 and again in March and June of 2024. We’ll update our season page soon, so stay tuned!
With thanks,
Tony Coretto
President, Ars Choralis Board of Directors
